Ready to sell your jewellery? Need some cash? It's easy! Simply bring all your Gold or Silver jewellery in to our store in Kitchener and we will assess your jewellery based on the Purity (Karat) and Pay you Top Dollar on the Spot, if you decide to sell.

NO APPOINTMENT is necessary.

Our store in Kitchener is open Monday to Friday 930 to 430pm. We have 6 buying stations and 8 appraisers on staff each day. No appointment is necessary to sell your collection, just come by and an appraiser will sit with you and go through the collection. Click here to see our hours and closed dates. We have knowledgeable experienced appraisers here for you. Simply come by the store in Kitchener and we will sit down with you and assess your collectables (Open Monday to Friday 930 to 430pm).

For Estates and Larger Collections: No appointment is necessary, we always have appraisers on staff each day. If you are driving from out of town, please call if you would like to ensure that we are open the day you are thinking of driving to see us in Kitchener.

House Calls are also available for larger collections for local residents or customers with mobility issues (please email or call us to arrange a time).

Don’t live close by? No Problem. You can mail your items to us for a free appraisal (anywhere in Canada). If you decide to sell your items we will send out payment (by Cheque or E-transfer). We recommend that you email (info@colonialacres.com) or telephone a list of items you are looking to sell prior to sending the items in the mail. Please include your name, address, telephone number and email within the package. Items not purchased will be returned at our expense.

Quick Tips for an Easy transaction:

Remove all costume Jewellery as we cannot offer anything for these items (if you are not sure bring it along and we will take a look at it for you)
- One quick and easy way to check to see if something is gold or silver is to run a strong magnet over the piece. If it sticks to the magnet, it is definitely not gold or silver. Remember that not all metals are magnetic, so even if your piece does not stick to the magnet, that does not necessarily mean that it is gold or silver.
Almost all Jewellery will be stamped with a Purity Stamp
- Gold Jewellery should be marked as 10K, 14K, 18K, 22K (international you may see a Numeric Stamp .417, .585, .750, .916)
- Silver Jewellery should be stamped with .925, .800, or Sterling (international silver may have image stamps)
- Note: Pieces which state “plate“, “electroplate”, “EPNS” or “filled” will not be pure. These terms mean that there is a coating of gold or silver over top of a base metal. Unfortunately, we do not purchase plated or filled items.
We will buy your Diamonds!
- We do buy diamonds! In some cases, we may be able to offer more for your piece if the diamond(s) are larger than .10 ct. Small diamonds, such as chip size or up to .10 ct, we are unable to offer any added value for, though sometimes we will offer the diamond or diamonds’ weight in gold. You are always welcome to keep the diamond if it is removable.
Weight must be deducted from your total for Precious Stones (if necessary)
- Larger stones may need to be removed from the piece in order to get an accurate weight
We do buy Dental Gold
- Please remove all impurities from dental gold prior to bringing them to the store. Impurities are easily removed with a hammer or pliers.
