Description

2021 (1921) 100th Ann. of Bluenose Canada 10-cents Proof (non-silver)

**This coin was carefully removed from the 2021 Canada Special Edition 100th Anniversary of Bluenose Silver Dollar Set**

The original Bluenose was launched as a fishing and racing schooner on March 26, 1921 in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. In October of that same year, the Bluenose took home her first Fishermen's Trophy, thus beginning a legend that has endured nearly 100 years. In 1937, the Bluenose first appeared on Canadian 10 cent coins, a tradition that continues today.

The reverse of this commemorative coin features the traditional Bluenose image seen on the Canadian 10-cent since 1937. The obverse includes the effigy of King George VI by Sir E. B Mackennal.
