The shipwrecked colonists made the wise decision to stay, claiming the island in the name of the British Empire. The story went on to inspire one of Shakespeare's final plays, \u003ci\u003eThe Tempest\u003c\/i\u003e, written in 1610-1611.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThis 1999 coin celebrates the turn of the millennium, Bermuda-style.
