A branch of the American Banknote Co. was then established in Ottawa to primarily handle the government banknote printing. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAfter the Dominion of Canada $1 and $2 notes were printed by the American Banknote Co., the notes soon went under modifications for a 1898 release.
