The inner core features a view of the CN Tower overlooking Lake Ontario and dominating a contemporary downtown Toronto skyline, whose tall skyscrapers tower above an outline of the city’s skyline as it appeared in 1976. When the photo-luminescent (glow-in-the-dark) technology is activated on the colourized coin, the scene shows the CN Tower and skyline illuminated at night, reflecting Toronto’s vibrant energy. Additional silhouettes on the outer ring represent five decades of growth and architectural evolution, with the skyline in 1976 appearing on the left and the 2026 cityscape on the right—a visual record of Toronto’s transformation into a modern, world-class city.
