2003 New Effigy Canada Loon Dollar Roll of 25 pcs

In 1987, the Government of Canada replaced the $1 banknote with a $1 coin. The changes in the coins were drastic, compared to the Voyager Dollar Series and the reverse Voyager design was replaced by the image of the Canadian Loon. Later on, the coin was heralded by many as the loonie. Continue the tradition with this 2003 New Effigy Loon Dollar Roll of 25 Pieces. It is made up of coins that depict a common loon swimming against a Canadian shield, a design that was created by Robert R. Carmichael. With regard to the obverse design, the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was created by Susanna Blunt, the creator of the iconic portrait of Prince Edward at the Buckingham Palace.
