Description

1971 Canada 5-cent Roll of 40pcs

In Canada, the beaver is a cultural and economic icon. In fact, hundreds of years ago, the Hurons, a tribe in the north shore of Ontario, honoured the mammal by making them their totem. On top of this, during the 16th century, the demand for beaver pelts was tremendous and this contributed to the economic growth of the country.
Because of its significance to the country, the beaver design by Canadian artist G.E. Kruger Gray was incorporated to the design of the 5-cent coin in 1937. It was complemented by an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, which was taken when she was 39 years old.
Commemorate the beaver's contributions to the great nation of Canada with this 5-Cent Roll of 40 Pieces from the Canadian Mint, which was released in 1971. "
