2018 Niue $1 Star Trek – Dr. McCoy 5g Silver Coin Note (No Tax)
Leonard H. McCoy, M.D. was born in 2227. Rising to lieutenant commander, he was named chief medical officer under long-time friend and commander Captain James T. Kirk. He was also nicknamed "Bones" by Kirk, in reference to the old American nickname given to army surgeons. His temperament was sometimes argumentative, a cynic's outer crustiness masking deep caring beneath the surface. As the emotional watchdog, he was not afraid to take on his captain, but it was his running battle of wits with Spock which became legendary.
The fourth release in the Star Trek Original Series Silver Coin Note Collection is none other than Lieutenant Commander Leonard "Bones" McCoy, M.D.
This striking note, made from 5g of pure silver, is coloured and engraved with images of Dr. McCoy and the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701. The note is printed with its unique number in the mintage and it's presented in a protective sleeve which includes details of the note's authenticity.
The obverse of the note features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and is legal tender in Niue.
