2017 Niue $2 Battles that Changed History - Battle of Trafalgar (No Tax)
The Battle of Trafalgar took place off Cape Trafalgar on 21 October, 1805. Its outcome ensured that the French would never invade Britain and confirmed Britain's naval supremacy - which lasted for another century.
Admiral Lord Nelson's twenty seven ships waited off the southwest coast of Spain for the thirty three Franco-Spanish ships to emerge. Nelson's winning plan, in a change from usual naval tactics, was to split into two columns to break through the enemy line and overwhelm the centre and rear sections of the enemy's fleet.
At dawn on 21 October Nelson's HMS Victory hoisted the famous signal 'England Expects That Every Man Will Do His Duty'. Nelson's faith in the superior gunnery and ship handling skills of the British crews was founded and, with the capture of eighteen ships, the enemy surrendered.
The third fine silver coin in the growing Battles That Changed History coin collection is the Battle of Trafalgar 1oz Silver Coin.

The themed outer box features a black line art illustration of the battle imposed over an antiqued paper texture. Inside an antique-looking timber box opens to reveal the coin nestled in its black velvet interior with the uniquely numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
