Description

1985 Canada Brilliant Uncirculated .50 Silver Dollar Commemorating the National Parks Centennial.

Canada's national parks are a country-wide system that is made up of protected areas that are established under federal legislation to preserve the country's natural heritage. All in all, Canada has 48 national parks that cover more than 340,000 km2, which is about 3% of the country's total landmass. 1985 marks the 100th anniversary of the National Parks of Canada and to commemorate this, the Canadian Mint released this National Parks Centennial 1985 Brilliant Uncirculated Dollar. The coin's reverse design is created by Montreal artist Karel Rohlicek and comes with an image of a moose that is standing in a pond with mountains on the background. The obverse comes with an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. As is typical, this coin may have light toning, and the outer cardboard sleeve may have some wear.
