2018 Australia $2 Year of the Dog ANDA Money Expo 2oz. Silver Proof (No Tax)
This year’s Perth ANDA Money Expo Special coin release features the 2018 Australian Lunar Series Year of the Dog design. The birth years for people include 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006 and 2018. Those born under this sign are said to be loyal, amiable, kind and friendly.
Each coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 2oz of 99.99% pure silver in proof quality.
The reverse of each coin depicts a German Shepherd Dog and pup lying in grass with Chinese peony flowers in the background. The Chinese character for ‘dog’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Dog’ also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2018 year-date, and the monetary denomination.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 1,000 of the Perth ANDA Money Expo Special Year of the Dog 2018 2oz Silver Proof Coloured Coin.
Each coin is housed in a display case and themed box-shipper featuring the ANDA logo alongside the dates of the Perth Money Expo and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
