Description

2008 Petro Vancouver Olympics 25-cent Canada Freestyle Skiing Card.

Freestyle skiing is a winter sport that mixes skiing and acrobatics. The winter Olympics have experimented with various events, but two have become constant through the course of its inclusion in international competition: aerials and moguls. Later on, somersaults and other tricks were added.

In 1988, freestyle skiing was a demonstration discipline in the Calgary Olympic Winter Games. In the 1992 Albertville Olympic Winter Games, mogul skiing was officially added as an Olympic sport, and in the Lillehammer 1994 Olympic Winter Games, aerial events were added as Olympic sports.

Immortalize freestyle skiing with this 25-Cent Freestyle Skiing Petro Canada Vancouver Olympics Card. Released in 2008, the coin is made from 94% steel, 3.8% copper and 2.2% nickel and has a partially coloured design showcasing the Olympic sport.
