Description

2012 Canada $15 Maple Hologram - Maple of Good Fortune Fine Silver (No Tax)

The pursuit of success, happiness, and good fortune is an important marker of Chinese culture that has helped to build strong and vibrant Chinese communities across Canada. This coin is part of a sought-after series celebrating the unique heritage and ancient culture of Chinese Canadians.

Around a central hologram of three maple leaves in the celebratory golds, oranges, and crimsons of Chinese New Year festivities, two majestic deer, four-point antlers rising gracefully above their upturned heads, leap in opposite directions, their spotted backs, upward-curving tails, and fully extended front and hind legs depicted with lovely engraving detail. The two creatures meet as friends, surrounded by an intricate stylized rendition of the traditional Chinese 'Five Blessings' bat charm, featuring five bats portrayed in ornate outline. Bats and deer frolic against a tapestry of forest leaves dotted with eight figurative gold coins representing great prosperity.
