Uncrowned Portrait, Modified Obverse Legend, Maple Twig Design (1948-1952)

Following the arrival of the master tools with the new obverse legend omitting "ET IND:IMP:" in 1948, the 1947 Maple Leaf coinage was terminated. For the remainder of the year, coins were produced with the new obverse and the true date, 1948.

A to Denticle Variety: the last "A" in GRATIA points to a denticle. Reverse has 129 denticles.
