Add a conversation piece to your collection with this 1976 Canada Detached Proof Like Set from the Royal Canadian Mint. This unique collection contains a 1 dollar coin with an image of the queen with one of the jewels detached from her crown. This special piece is a must-have for many collectors.
In 1953, the Canadian Mint started the release of uncirculated proof-like sets. From 1953 to 1960, the coins were wrapped in a cellophane sheet and put on a white sheet of paper. In 1961, the Royal Canadian Mint made and used a transparent plastic film that was then placed inside an envelope. This is the method still used today for these types of sets, including this 1976 proof like set.
