Coin comes with COA and RCM issued case. This product may or may not come with the outer cardboard sleeve. As is typical with this series, the outer cardboard sleeve might have some light wear, the capsule may be scratched, and the coin might have light toning or toning spots.

The Canadian Vickers Vedette played an important role in the history of Canadian aviation during the 1920's. This pusher biplane "flying boat" was developed mainly for forestry patrol and aerial photographic operations.

Between the two World Wars, more Vickers Vedettes were manufactured in this country than any other model. It also became the first aircraft to be manufactured in Canada for commercial operators.

This $20 Aviation Series Vickers Vedette Coin is a part of the Royal Canadian Mint's first ten-coin series that commemorates the Powered Flight in Canada: The First 50 Years. This sterling silver coin is complemented by a 24-karat gold covered cameo portrait of a Canadian aviation hero, Wilfred T. Reid. Part of the reverse design contains the Canadian Vickers Vedette, the first aircraft to play an important role in the history of Canadian aviation during the 1920's.
