The Royal Australian Mint's Australia Coat of Arms series continues with this third release. This release celebrates the Queensland Coat of Arms. This series focuses on 1oz Silver Bullion coins with intricate designs which symbolizes the country's history.

The reverse depicts a brolga crane, the official bird of Queensland that has been featured on the coat of arms since 1977, as well as a cattle, sheep, wheat and Gold, and workman tools, symbolizing the then-colony's great wealth and prosperity. The denomination "ONE DOLLAR" and the inscription "Queensland" are also on the coin. The obverse illustrates a rampant stag, and also includes an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and the Latin motto "Audax at Fidelis."

The Royal Australian Mint is known for minting superb quality Gold and Silver coins, with limited mintages. Their popular Domed Proof coin series have quickly sold out at the Mint, increasing the collectability of the series. The Royal Australian Mint also produces the circulating coins for Australia. The Mint was first opened in 1965, and the first mint of the country to not be a branch of the Royal Mint.
