2021 Canada $100 Our National Colours 10oz Fine Silver (No Tax)
Celebrate Canada's National Colours & Arboreal Anniversary with this 10oz Fine Silver Coin! On April 25th, 1996 (25 years ago), all 10 maple (Acer) species within Canada become Canada's national arboreal emblem. The coin's reverse depicts not one, but all ten diverse maple species within Canada. Each leaf is connected by a ribbon and bow, and highlighted by selective red and white - Canada's official colours since 1921 - enamelling. Celebrate two of Canada's cherished national symbols within the 2021 Canada $100 Our National Colours Fine Silver Coin.
The coin's reverse depicts an arrangement of 10 species of Canadian maple leaves. The leaves appear in the following order (clockwise): mountain (A. spicatum), red (A. arubrum), striped (A. pensylvanicum), Manitoba (A. negundo), Douglas (A. glabrum), sugar (A. saccharum), big leaf (A. macrophyllum), silver (A. saccharinum), black (A. nigrum) and vine (A. circinatum). Each leaf is connected by a ribbon, bow and banner that contains white selective frosting. In the center of this wreath is a red enamelled sugar maple leaf, with a banner which bears the dates "1921-2021" to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Canada's national colours. This beautiful 10oz coin was designed by Canadian artist Michelle Grant. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. Beneath the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is a special privy mark in honour of the 25th Anniversary (1996-2021) of Canada's national arboreal emblem, the maple (Acer).
