These Maple leaf coins were struck to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the one dollar loon coin issued in 1987.

The Royal Canadian Mint released this 2002 Special Edition Hologram Loon to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the dollar coin in Canada. Originally struck in 1987, the dollar coin became known affectionately known as the “Loonie.”
This commemorative 1 oz proof silver hologram coin comes encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint clamshell case.
