Description

2004 22-Karat Gold Coin - Illumination the Unknown by Alfred Pellen.

Canada is known across the globe for its rich natural resources, but also for its exceptional art sector. Many Canadian artists contribute to the country's culture. One of the most iconic artists in Canadian history is Quebec painter Alfred Pellan. His beautiful work is celebrated in the release of the 2004 Canada $200 Fragments 22 karat Gold Coin. Inspired by Pellan's artwork "Fragments", the coin depicts a woman and a man conversing. The woman appears to be made of crumbling stone, while the man looks on her, transfixed.

The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This coin is a great way to show your appreciation for the arts in Canada and makes a beautiful addition to any collection.
