The caribou is known for its wild-living attribute and it plays a key role in Canadian history and culture. It became more significant in 1936 when a change in the sovereign's image that was used on currency persuaded the Canadian government to modify coin designs. In line with the momentous development, in 1937, Emanuel Hahn's caribou design found its way on the 25-Cent Coin.
