2018 Niue $1 Star Trek - Lt. Uhura 5g Silver Coin Note (No Tax)
As communications officer, Uhura served as the capable point of contact between the U.S.S. Enterprise and its many encounters with other species. Uhura's name means "freedom" in Swahili, her native language. When not on the bridge, Uhura often entertained her fellow crew members with her beautiful singing voice.
The Star Trek Original Series Silver Coin Note Collection continues with the release of Lieutenant Uhura.
Made from 5g of pure silver, the note's reverse has images of Uhura and the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 and is coloured and engraved with Star Trek themes.
The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and is legal tender in Niue.
Each silver coin note contains its unique number in the mintage and is presented in a protective sleeve which includes details of the note's authenticity.
Uhura is one of the seven unique silver coin notes that make up the collection which also includes Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Sulu and Chekov. Each note has its own page in the Star Trek Original Series Collector's Album, which is included with purchase of the Captain Kirk Silver Coin Note.
