2018 Nicaragua C$100 Wildlife - Giant Anteater 1oz. Silver Proof (No Tax)
The giant anteater is a solitary and harmless animal that can grow up to 215 centimetres long. Its fur is dense and thick, and it has a long bushy tail that it uses as a blanket or sunshade. It can detect an anthill or termite nest using its highly developed sense of smell. Its long, sticky tongue, housed inside its elongated head, allows it to eat up to 30,000 ants and termites in a day.
The third release in the New Zealand Mint's Wildlife of Nicaragua pure 1oz silver coin collection features the edentate Giant Anteater, a solitary animal that is unusual in that it has no teeth. Instead, it possesses a long snout and efficient tongue to swallow its favourite food whole.
Issued by the Central Bank of Nicaragua, this third release artistically combines the coloured Anteater amongst a detailed engraving of its native forest habitat.
The coin sits within a modern wooden box featuring Nicaragua's Coat of Arms. Inside, the coin is nestled in cream velvet alongside the Certificate of Authenticity written in both English and Spanish. The outer box design is in keeping with the Nicaraguan wildlife theme.
With a limited mintage of 5,000 coins, the Anteater 1oz Silver Coin makes a desirable gift or collectible for coin collectors and wildlife enthusiast. Add this third coin to your collection today.
