1873 Newfoundland 50-cents Very Good (VG-8)

Victoria Obverse Portrait 1: There are four leaves at the top of the laurel crown, and the upper-most leaf enters the legend band between the"E" and "I" in DEI. There is a prominent upper lip. There are no dots before or after NEWFOUNDLAND. Portrait Obverse 1 can be found on the 1870, 1872H, 1873, 1874, 1876H, 1880, 1881, 1885, 1888, 1894, 1896, and 1898 Newfoundland 50-cents.
