NS-5A1 1856 Nova Scotia Victoria Mayflower Half Penny Token VF-EF (VF-30)

In the 1850s the Nova Scotia government applied for and received its first true coinage, a halfpence and a pence which features a sprig of the Mayflower, which is now Nova Scotia's provincial flower. These coins are considered by many to be among the most beautiful coins ever made for North America. They were produced at Heatons Mint in Birmingham, but the master tools were made by the Royal Mint.
