Fifty years after the release of Planet of the Apes, this 1oz Silver release celebrates the groundbreaking movie's anniversary in stunning style. It makes an ideal memento for devotees of the original film and all those who've followed the subsequent adventures. The design showcases a superbly detailed representation of the face of an ape that appears on the original movie poster with a depiction of the adobe-like structures of the arid Ape City in the foreground.

Each coin is struck by the Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver.

Issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu the coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2018 year-date and the monetary denomination on its obverse.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of the Planet of the Apes 50th Anniversary 2018 1oz Silver Proof Coin.
