Description

2006 Canada $350 Gold Coin - Iris Versicolor Gold Coin (TAX Exempt)

The stylized fleur de lis that appears on Quebec's provincial flag has a long history of association to the country of France. This heraldic symbol was assumed to be Madonna Lily (Lilium candidum), which is a native of Asia Minor and Southeastern Europe. And since it's not not indigenous to Quebec, it prompted a move to adopt a flower specie that is indeed a part of Quebec and can exude the spirit of the province.

This is when the Iris versicolor (Blue Flag) officially became the official emblem of the province in 1999. Celebrate this momentous event with this 2006 $350 Iris Versicolor crafted in Pure Gold Coin. The 9th in the series of the provincial flowers that started in 1998. Crafted in 99.999% pure gold, it was hand polished to deliver a sense of grandiosity that's unlike any other. Plus, it's struck to mintage of 2,006 internationally.
