Description

1990 Canada Brilliant Uncirculated Silver Dollar

The 300th anniversary of Henry Kelsey's ventures into the Canadian West is commemorated on the 1990 Brilliant Uncirculated Dollar.

Henry Kelsey is best known for exploration from Hudson Bay to the western interior; making him the first European to get a glimpse of the Prairies. Commemorate this momentous event with this tricentennial brilliant coin. Made of 50% silver and 50% copper, the coin's reverse design is created by Ontario artist David Crag and it shows a group of Western natives showing Kelsey a herd of buffalos. The obverse comes with an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II designed by Canadian artist Dora de Pedery-Hunt. As is typical, this coin may have light toning.
