This 1987 Silver Dollar Coin from the Canadian Mint is in brilliant uncirculated finish and marks the 400th anniversary of the historic exploration of John Davis (also spelled Davys) to the Baffin Island, the Davis Strait and the Gulf of Cumberland. The coin's design is created by Nova Scotian artist, Christopher Gorey which depicts the 16th century vessel that has an iceberg at the background, which is complemented by the inscription - Detroit de Davis Strait, 1587 - 1987. As typical this coin may be slightly toned.
