2018 Niue $1 Star Wars: A New Hope - R2D2 & C-3PO 5g Silver Coin Note (No Tax)
After Princess Leia hides the Death Star plans in R2-D2, the astromech jettisons from her ship with C-3PO. Landing on Tatooine, the droids are sold to the Uncle of Luke Skywalker – but Artoo is on a mission to deliver the Princess' message to Obi-Wan Kenobi.
While subsequently rescuing the Princess, C-3PO and R2-D2 save their new friends from being crushed and they flee to the Rebel Alliance base on Yavin 4 to deliver the vital plans.
R2-D2 accompanies Luke in his X-wing during the attack on the space station. Artoo is severely damaged in the battle and C-3PO volunteers to donate parts for his friend's restoration. With the astromech fully repaired, both are included in the Alliance's medal ceremony.
Everyone's favourite droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO, are together again on their own Star Wars: A New Hope Silver Coin Note.
Made from 5g of pure silver, the note is coloured and engraved with the two characters on Tatooine, as well as the movie's logo and the Rebel Alliance starbird.
The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and is legal tender in Niue.
Each silver coin note contains its unique number in the mintage and is presented in a protective sleeve which includes details of the note's authenticity.
