This cute baby rooster celebrates the Year of the Rooster. The birth dates for people ruled by the Chinese Lunar rooster include 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, and 2017. Those born under the influence of this sign are said to be hardworking, loyal, honest, and sociable.

The coin's reverse depicts a colour representation of a baby rooster against a backdrop of flowers. The Chinese character for 'rooster', the inscription 'Year of the Rooster', The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark, and the 2017 year-date are also incorporated into the design.
The coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu and features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Denomination on its obverse.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 7,500 of the Baby Rooster 2017 1/2oz Silver Proof Coin.
The coin is housed in a classic Perth Mint presentation case and beautifully illustrated shipper, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
