Celebrating the Year of the Rooster this exceptional release features the Lunar rooster in authentic Australian opal.

The coin is struck from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver in proof quality.

The coin's reverse incorporates an inner panel design of a rooster detailed in pure Australian opal. The outer panel of the coin depicts a collection of stylized leaves. The design includes the inscription YEAR OF THE ROOSTER, the 2017 year-date, and The Perth Mint's traditional 'P' mintmark.

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 , the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Denomination are depicted on the coin's obverse.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of the Australian Opal Lunar Series - Year of the Rooster 2017 1oz Silver Proof Coin.
