2017 Australia $1 Kookaburra High Relief Proof Silver Coin (TAX Exempt)

This stunning 1oz silver proof coin depicts the iconic Australian kookaburra, one of the world's largest kingfishers.

The coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.

The coin's reverse depicts two kookaburras perched on a wooden fence. The design includes the inscription AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA, The Perth Mint's ‘P' mintmark, and the 2017 year-date.

The coin's high relief reverse and obverse are minted on concave surfaces to ensure the optimum flow of metal is achieved by the strike of the die.

Issued as Australian legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin's obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of the Australian Kookaburra 2017 1oz Silver Proof High Relief Coin.
