2016 Tuvalu 50-cent Jaguar Cubs 1/2 oz. Silver Proof Coin (TAX Exempt)
The second coin in this adorable new series features two jaguar cubs.
The jaguar is the third largest feline in the world after the tiger and the lion, and the largest in the Americas. Jaguars are spotted cats, similar in appearance to leopards; however, they are generally larger and more strongly built, with behaviours closer to that of the tiger.
Each coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1/2oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.
The coin's reverse features two coloured jaguar cubs playing in a jungle in front of an Incan temple. The inscription CUBS and The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark also appear in the design.
Issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu, the coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2016 year-date, and the monetary denomination, on its obverse.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of The Cubs - Jaguar Cubs 2016 1/2oz Silver Proof Coin.
The coin is presented in a classic display case within an illustrated shipper and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
