We have knowledgeable experienced appraisers here for you. Simply come by the store and we will sit down with you and assess your collection. For Estates and Larger Collections: Please call in advance to ensure our chief appraiser is available

Don’t live close by? No Problem.You can mail your items to us for a free appraisal. If you decide to sell the items we will send out payment (Canadian or US funds). We recommend that you email or telephone a list of items you are looking to sell first before sending in the mail. Please include your name, address, telephone number and email within the package. Items not purchased will be returned at our expense.

How To Prepare your collection to be evaluated:

To help speed up the appraisal time there is a few simple steps you can do to prepare your collection prior to seeing us.

  • If your coins and paper money are in albums, just leave as is and come see us.

Jewellery: If you see a stamp on the piece, or believe that you know the karat, please sort accordingly. If you are unsure of the karat, we will be happy to test it for you.

We would appreciate it if all loose coins were sorted into the following groups

CANADIAN LOOSE COINS:

  • First, Separate by Denominations:
    • 1 cent, 5 cents, 10 cents, 25 cents, 50 cents, $1.00, $2.00
  • 1 cent and 5 cents, please sort by Monarchs (dates):
    • Victoria (1858-1901), Edward (1902-1910), George V (1911-1936), George VI (1937-1952), and Elizabeth II (1953-date)
  • 10 cents and 25 cents, please sort by the following:
    • A) 1966 and Older, B) 1967 Centennial, C) 1968 Silver, D) 1969 to Date
  • 50 cents and $1.00 Simply sort by the following:
    • A) 1967 and older, B) 1968 to Date
  • Canadian Paper Money please organize by Issue Dates:
    • A) 1935, B) 1937, C) 1954, D)1967, E) 1970’s, F) 1980 Birds, G) Modern Journey series, H) Chartered and Dominion Notes

USA COINS:

  • First, Separate by Denominations:
  • 1 cents, 5 cents, 10 cents, 25 cents, 50 cents, $1.00
  • 1 cents and 5 cents:
    • Sort by design
  • 10 cents and 25 cent, please sort by the following
    • A) 1964 and older, B) 1965 to date
  • 50 cents, please sort by the following:
    • 1964 and older, B) 1964-1970, C) 1971 to date
  • $1.00 Sort by the following
    • A) 1935 and Older, B) 1936 to Date
  • All Gold coins keep separate.

WORLD COINS:

  • Typically, we buy all modern World Coinage (1900-date) by weight. Please separate any coins older than 1900, which will be viewed to determine value.
  • Please pull out all Gold and Silver coins, the rest can be kept together.

House Calls are also available for larger collections for local residents at a respectable hourly fee.

  • Fees are reimbursed if you decide to sell your collection.
  • Insurance Appraisals are available at an Hourly Rate. Appointments are necessary for Insurance Appraisals.
  • Please note we can only appraise items in your possession. For theft and fire cases we are unable to issue insurance appraisals.
