BID SHEET

What is a Proxy Bid?
Proxy bids are bids you place for an auction lot prior to the auction going Live. Please note: Your bid should reflect the maximum your willing to pay for the lot. The Proxy bid will automatically bid for you in designated bidding increments up to this maximum bid value you place. This does not mean you will always pay the maximum bid amount; when the auction opens to Live bidding on the Floor and internet the day of the Auction, if any new bids are received, your proxy will automatically bid against them to your maximum designated value. A Proxy bid is fully confidential to you, the bidder, and is kept in the Live bidders platforms encrypted file software which is not made known to anyone including Colonial Acres Auction staff.

Is there an Advantage between Internet Bidding and Live Floor Bidding?
No, Internet bidders and Floor bidders will be competing for the same auctions in real time during the Auction Event. The Auction platforms are built to be extremely fast with very little to no lag time. Please make sure your System requirements and web browser are current.>

How do I know if I won an Lot?
If you are bidding online, you will receive a message indicating that you have won once the lot closes to bidding. Please note: That from time to time, a lot must be re-opened to live bidding (see "Why was a lot re-opened?"). If you received the winning bid notification, you will have to continue bidding or you may lose to a higher bidder. We strive to prevent this situation from happening but all decisions are at the discretion of the auctioneer and Colonial Acres Auction.

What forms of payment are accepted?
Colonial Acres Auctions will accept the following forms of payment: Cash, Bank Drafts, Debit (in house only), Wire Transfers, Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, and Amex) Please note that some forms of payments will receive a lower buyer,s premium. A complete list of rates and payment types is located under Terms and Conditions. Please Note: All payments must be made within 30 days of the Auction event. An interest rate of 2% Monthly will be applied to any unpaid auctions after the 30 day period. We recommend that if you are planning on paying with Debit or Credit cards, check with you bank provider for daily Usage limits, as you may need to increase this for the day of the event in order for your payments to be approved.

What if Multiple bidders place the same Bid, how do you decide who wins the lot?
In rare cases you may notice a lot close for your maximum bid but you do not win the lot. This occurs in cases where a proxy bid has been entered prior to the live auction event and a mail or absentee bid has been placed for the exact same amount. In the case of a Tie, the auction software will allocate the winning bid to the first received bid in the system for this lot. Please note that if you have placed a Proxy bid you cannot bid against yourself during the live event.

Why was a lot re-opened?
To keep a fair and level playing field for all bidders involved in the auction event. Occasionally, there might be an unexpected lag-time from internet bidders and/or a missed floor bid from our auctioneer. Colonial Acres Auctions has the right to re-open the auction to the live platforms to continue the bidding. If you were initially the highest bidder, you will have to continue bidding to win the lot. This situation should occur minimally, as long as you ensure that you are running up-to-date software and have an uninterrupted internet connection.

What are my Computers requirements to bid online?
The Live Auction Platforms are designed to allow you to bid from almost all forms of internet accessible devices such as PCs, Apple computers, Tablets, and almost all modern mobile phones. Please insure you are running current web browser software such as: Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox.

HOW TO BID:
You may send us your bids by email, mail, fax, phone or you can bid on our website, either up to 1 week prior to the sale or by bidding online during the live session. The opening bid for all lots will commence at 10% above the second highest bid received or the consignor's reserve (whichever is higher). All mail bids received prior to the live auction will be lowered whenever possible (so don't be afraid to put down your maximum bid!!) All lots will be started at either the consignor's reserve or 50% of the estimate. Key Date and higher graded material generally will command a closing price close to or above the estimated price. If you place a bid of about 80% of the estimate you should have a good chance of winning the lot, while a bid of 100% of the estimate you will likely win the lot. All prices are in Canadian Funds. Bidding in this auction will be in Canadian Funds. Mail bids received from USA customers will be converted to CDN funds using the rate on the auction's date. In cases where no previous bids have been received the Auctioneer reserves the right to open the lot at a value to their discretion, typically 50% of the estimate is used in cases where no pre-set reserve price has been set by the consignor and Auctioneer. Any bids placed by a consignor and or an agent representing you on your own consignments are still subject to the full buyer’s premiums and commission rates agreed by you and the auctioneer. All Bidders are held responsible for their own bids, any errors in calculations and or lots numbers is considered a final bid.
